All-Star Sports Camp:

The camp is held in the summer, starting on the 4th Monday of July.  The camp is free for those that attend.  The camp is for children who will be entering Kindergarten through 6th grade in the upcoming school year.  Activities at the camp include:  baseball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, arts & crafts, football, praise dance, and track and field.  The camp lasts for 5 days from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.  The sports and activities last for an hour and a half, then after a short break, we have an hour and fifteen minute praise service.  The praise and worship include songs with motions, talks, puppets, and dramas.

Each child is also provided a sack lunch as they leave the camp each day.  The camp ends with a cookout celebration, so that the parents can come and see what the children did at camp during the week. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:  registration, snacks and meals, cookout, and helping with the different sports and activities.  Since the camp is free, there is a need for people to sponsor children for the camp.  Suggested sponsorship is $25 per child, but any size donation is accepted.

Children of God (C.O.G.) Program:

C.O.G. was birthed out of the sports camp.  C.O.G. was started to have an ongoing relationship and impact with children throughout the year.  Children in this program.  C.O.G. normally meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. On the first Saturday of the month, we have academic tutoring, and teaching life skills to the children.  All children need to learn skills such as teamwork, setting goals, and interpersonal skills.

On the 3rd Saturday of the month, we have fun classes (such as cooking, woodworking, arts & crafts) as well as occasional field trips or speakers.  Once a quarter, we also do community service projects.  Each time we meet, we have times of worship, and breakfast and lunch is provided to the children.  Volunteers are needed to help on both Saturdays, we also need help with the fun classes, cooking the meals, and with field trips.

Godly Young Men & Godly Young Ladies (GYM & GYL)

GYM & GYL is a 12 week program that we do for students in Middle School and High School.  This program examines a range of topics that most teenagers address during this time in their lives.  Topics such as dating, anger management, and self-esteem are discussed.  We have a speaker each week, and we challenge the participants to look at these issues from a Christian perspective instead from a worldly point of view.  At the end of the 12 weeks, we have a graduation ceremony for the participants.  GYM & GYlL is held each fall and spring semester.

Fundraising:

We do fundraisers throughout the year.  We also work concession stands at Texas Tech athletic events.  We could definitely use help with all of our fundraising efforts.
